Sgt. Thomas Joseph McHugh's 2/27/2021 telephone interview conducted by the Marine Corps' History Division. Sgt. McHugh was assigned to VMSB243 from 1942 to 1945 as a member of the Squadron's Ordnance Team. The guys who maintained ammunition supplies and set the bombs under the SBDs.

Thomas passed away on February 23, 2023 at the age of 101 in Kings Park, New York. A local Marine Corps. Unit provided him with quite a send off at the cemetery. He requested that gifts in his honor be donated to the annual Marines' Toys for Tots Program.
